Building upon Ellerbe Becket’s legacy as innovators in the design of healthcare facilities, we are proud to be at the forefront of the evidence-based design initiative as well. As one of only a handful of firms in the country with a formalized healthcare education and research program, Ellerbe Becket has set forth a research agenda that promotes:

• The use of design research internally among all our staff,
• Initiatives to help our clients make more informed design decisions, and
• Programs that will promote research within our larger design community.

Facilitated by Terri Zborowsky—a registered nurse, medical planner and interior design doctoral candidate—our approach is to be open and share among our colleagues, with the overarching goal of elevating the bar within the field of healthcare design.
