Ray recently joined Ellerbe Becket as a Design Principal. For more than 30 years, he has focused on public architecture, primarily in the areas of courts, library and higher education facilities. His recognition of and ability to design to the unique aspirations of public architecture, the expressive and symbolic qualities, the highest level of functionality and innovation, along with an underlying sense of integrity and commitment to design excellence, has resulted in the successful completion of over 40 significant projects. In 2005 Ray was elevated to Fellow in the American Institute of Architects.
