The first thing to greet visitors to the center will be a 40 ft. to 50 ft. (12 m to 15 m) wall made of stone indigenous to the area. Jordanian artists will contribute historical images for display along the wall. Components of the mixed-use project include an outpatient clinic, central cooling plant, mission critical data warehouse and a 200,000-sq.ft. (18,580 m2) exhibition center.
Additionally, this ambitious development is planned to contain two hotels: a four-star hotel with 500 rooms and a three-star hotel half that size. A 20-floor office building, three high-end restaurants, and entertainment facilities with 12 movie screens and an IMAX theater will provide support and tertiary services. Traffic accommodations include helipads and parking for 3,000 cars below grade.
Like previous large multiuse projects, Jordan Millennium Center will be a collaborative effort among Ellerbe Becket employees around the globe. Arthur Andersen will review a feasibility study later this year.
