Complementary expertise strengthens global platform for integrated design solutions to complex projects

San Francisco, CA and Minneapolis, MN— Ellerbe Becket, a world-renowned architecture, interiors and engineering firm is joining the architecture, planning and engineering firm AECOM. Ellerbe Becket’s professional expertise and practice strengths in the design of healthcare, sports, government, corporate and higher education facilities complement a global AECOM platform configured to deliver integrated design solutions to complex projects.

“We’re bringing together top-notch professionals committed to building the next generation integrated design practice,” said Joe Brown, FASLA, Chief Executive of Planning, Design + Development for AECOM. “Together we have an opportunity to forge new responses to better serve clients in a world where resource scarcity, urbanization, environmental change and economic uncertainty factor into projects of every scale. These challenges demand the reinvention of the roles of architect, interior designer, landscape architect, scientist, ecologist, engineer, planner and economist.”

A broad range of AECOM professionals work from local studios on four continents, combining regional knowledge and global expertise in a connected approach to creating, enhancing and sustaining built and social environments. Ellerbe Becket adds 450 professionals practicing from seven offices in the United States and Middle East.

“With the AECOM global platform of services, we’re broadening the expertise and knowledge that we can apply to our clients’ projects,” said Rick Lincicome, AIA, Ellerbe Becket’s chief executive officer. “Increasingly, projects of all sizes are affected by the global environmental and economic issues. The added resources that we can apply to these projects from the earliest stages will allow us to deliver exemplary local solutions for clients while making a difference in the world. We're thrilled to be a part of the AECOM team.”

The union of Ellerbe Becket and AECOM fortifies a platform of connected expertise. AECOM services address the complete building lifecycle, from design, to operation, to maintenance and post-occupancy—as well as integrating buildings into a community, region and environment through economic analysis, urban design, environmental and ecological planning, and cultural understanding.
