Mic Johnson, AIA, and Ken LeDoux, AIA, FASID, IIDA, CID, will share their experiences from the design of Yonsei University Medical Center’s New Severance Hospital in Korea. Johnson is the Design Principal in the firm’s Minneapolis office. LeDoux is Minneapolis’ Interior Design Director.
The two will discuss:
- Strategies for architectural and interior design that reflects local culture and traditions while supporting quality patient care.
- How planning blocks can be taken apart to respond to the particulars of land forms, site and campus organization and be recombined to support current technology and healthcare delivery.
- Understanding how the integration of daily life activities in a healthcare environment can stimulate wellness and a sense of community within a specific cultural framework.
