Howard Goltz, AIA, Named New Ellerbe Becket Architectural Director

MINNEAPOLIS–Ellerbe Becket is pleased to announce that Howard Goltz, AIA, has joined its growing Minneapolis office as Architectural Director. With nearly 40 years of professional experience, Goltz is a well-rounded and talented architect who will lead clients and project teams through the planning, design and construction process.

Prior to joining Ellerbe Becket, Goltz spent 20 years at the Minneapolis office of Leo A. Daly (formerly Setter Leach &Lindstrom), where he served as principal and vice president. Goltz also worked at Ellerbe Architects in the mid-1970s.

His experience is wide ranging, and includes healthcare, corporate/industrial, educational and government projects. Recent work includes the Department of Veterans’ Affairs Minneapolis Spinal Cord Injury and Disorder Center; Fairview Red Wing Medical Center; Fairview Lakes Regional Medical Center, and ongoing projects for Qwest, the University of Minnesota, Thrivent Financial for Lutherans, and Federated Insurance.

Over the course of his career, Goltz has been extremely active in the Minnesota chapter of the American Institute of Architects (AIA), including serving as Minnesota’s President in 2004. He continues his service to the profession as a member of AIA Minnesota’s Finance Committee and Communication Task Force, and as Town Hall Chair. Goltz also serves on the Board of Directors of the Minnesota Architectural Foundation and is a member of the Urban Land Institute, Minnesota Medical Group Management Association, and the American Society of Healthcare Engineers.

Goltz holds a Bachelor of Arts in Architecture (cum laude) and a Bachelor of Architecture from the University of Minnesota. He is a registered architect in Minnesota.
