Architecture firms Ellerbe Becket and Progress AE designed the 750,000 sf structure to connect the riverfront to downtown Grand Rapids. The structure blends with the traditional architecture of its surroundings while pointing to the future. Materials and detailing complement the new Van Andel Arena, creating two civic building anchors at each end of downtown.

DeVos Place also has been honored by the Associated Builders and Contractors and the National Terrazzo & Mosaic Association.
