Editor’s Note: The enclosed article details how a new Ellerbe Becket-designed children’s and women’s hospital in Qatar ultimately will aid development of a similar facility in San Francisco. Ellerbe Becket is executive architect for the new Specialty Teaching Hospital in Doha, and knowledge gained from that project will be applied to a new children’s and women’s hospital in San Francisco’s Mission Bay area.
