Buggy has been with the firm nearly 20 years, working primarily on healthcare, developer and corporate projects. He currently serves on Ellerbe Becket’s Board of Directors and is national director of healthcare, a role he will continue.
“Jon has overseen the expansion of Ellerbe Becket’s healthcare franchise beyond its traditional strongholds in Minneapolis and Washington, D.C.,” said CEO Rick Lincicome.
He brings the same vigor to the Minneapolis office director position. “It’s hard to imagine a better candidate,” said Lincicome. In nearly two decades with the firm – all of it in Minneapolis – Buggy has worked in all facets of the business, from project architecture to marketing to his status today as one of the country’s foremost healthcare design authorities.
Buggy’s recent project experience includes Target Plaza South in Minneapolis; Park Nicollet’s Heart and Vascular Center in St. Louis Park, Minn.; Abbott Northwestern Hospital’s Neuro/Ortho/Spine Patient Care Center in Minneapolis; and multiple projects at Sioux Valley Hospital in Sioux Falls, S.D.
He also currently is Treasurer of AIA Minnesota.
Fred Richter, who formerly served as Minneapolis Office Director, is taking on a new role as Principal in Charge of Business Development for Ellerbe Becket’s integrated design-build services offering. “Fred is leading the firm’s efforts to develop business with clients who are seeking our world-class design and problem solving expertise delivered in an integrated design-build way,” said Lincicome.
An innovator since its founding in 1909, Ellerbe Becket is a leader in architecture, engineering and the construction industry with office locations worldwide.
