Illuminating Society Honors San Antonio’s City Public Service Center

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn – The Ellerbe Becket–designed City Public Service Energy Management Center in San Antonio has been recognized for Achievement in Lighting Design by the Illuminating Engineering Society of North America (Twin Cities chapter) and the International Interior Design Association.

The center, which opened in 2004, serves more than a half-million electric customers and more than 300,000 natural gas customers. Ellerbe Becket, a leading designer of mission critical facilities, provided architecture, engineering and lighting design for the center.

Al Wenzel, PE, and Ken LeDoux, IIDA, served as lighting designers for the project. The Energy Management Center also received an “Excellence in Construction Award” from the Associated Builders & Contractors of South Texas.
