
WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – A Comprehensive Cancer Center at Wake Forest’s Baptist Medical Center has been cited by the local construction industry. The center, which opened in August, has won a 2004 Merit In Construction Award from the Associated Builders and Contractors of the Carolinas.
The new cancer center incorporates approximately 253,000 sf of radiation, medical and surgical oncology on four levels. Included are diagnostic and exam rooms, patient treatment areas, administration and staff support areas, parking garage and a skyway connection to the Baptist Medical Center patient tower.
Ellerbe Becket provided architecture, engineering, interior design and planning for the project. Bovis Lend Lease was the construction manager.
Awards will be presented Nov. 18 at the Speedway Club at Lowe’s Motor Speedway in Charlotte, N.C.
