
With it’s golden dome, the Main Administration Building at Notre Dame University is arguably the most recognizable college structure in the U.S. The venerable dome, renovated by Ellerbe Becket in 1999, turns 125 years old this year. Click here for more information on the milestone.
Constructed in 1879, the building was designed to house the entire college. Renovation included historic restoration and adaptive re-use of public areas, administration and executive offices. Ellerbe Becket has a 50-year legacy of working on the Notre Dame campus. The firm’s work includes renovations of the campus’ two most well-known buildings: the stadium and administration building.
