August 5th, 2004

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn.–Ellerbe Becket shareholders have re-elected three members to the firm’s Board of Directors.

Rick Lincicome, AIA, Bill Crockett, AIA, and Carol Sakoian were re-elected to two-year terms.

Rick Lincicome Lincicome is the Ellerbe Becket CEO. He is the 11th person to lead the firm, which was founded nearly a century ago in St. Paul, Minn. The company has projects underway on nearly every continent and is well known for its expertise in health sciences, sports and engineered building systems. Since becoming CEO in 2001, his focus has been on making the firm synonymous with high design and high value for its clients.

Lincicome has been with Ellerbe Becket more than 20 years. Prior to serving as CEO, he was the firm’s president from 1998 to 2001. He also has served as the company’s president of architecture and director of the Washington, D.C., and New York offices. He earned bachelors and masters degrees from the University of Illinois School of Architecture and later taught at his alma mater as an assistant professor of design.

Bill Crockett Crockett is managing principal of the firm’s expanding San Francisco office. He has been responsible for leading some of the firm’s most challenging–and most successful–projects during his 14-plus year tenure with the firm. He holds a Master of Architecture degree from Tulane University.

A four-year member of the Board, he also serves on the firm’s Management Committee. He has represented Ellerbe Becket as a featured speaker at industry conferences on topics such as sustainable design and value engineering strategies in sports facility planning.

Carol Sakoian Sakoian has been a board member for eight years. She is an executive with Scholastic Inc., the world’s largest publisher and distributor of children’s books and educational materials. Her current focus is to develop Scholastic’s business in the Middle East and to promote literacy in developing countries. During her time on the Ellerbe Becket Board, she has chaired the Nominations Committee and served as a member of the Audit and Compensation Committees.

The re-elected members join John M. “Jock”” Holliman, John C. Gaunt, AIA, John Waugh, AIA, and Mark C. Zweig in rounding out the seven-member board. The board makeup includes three Ellerbe Becket employees and four outside directors.

An innovator since its founding in 1909, Ellerbe Becket is a leader in architecture, engineering and the construction industry with office locations worldwide.
