Madison Square Garden, renovated by Ellerbe Becket in the early 1990s, finished first. The Wachovia Center in Philadelphia and the St. Pete Times Forum in Tampa – both designed by Ellerbe Becket in the mid-1990s – finished second and third, respectively.
“We design these buildings to meet the business and operational goals of clients from both the private and public sector,” said Ellerbe Becket Managing Principal David Orlowski. “At the same time, we set exceptional design standards for creating destinations that provide memorable entertainment and fun.”
Other Ellerbe buildings that made the list include the Thomas & Mack Center at the University of Nevada at Las Vegas (5th) and the MCI Center in Washington, D.C. (8th).
