College Hockey’s Frozen Four to be Held at HSBC Arena in Buffalo

April 9th, 2003

The countdown to the 2003 NCAA Division I Men's Frozen Four Ice Hockey Championship is on.

The championship series will open at the Ellerbe Becket-designed HSBC Arena in Buffalo, New York on Thursday, April 10, 2003 at 12:00 pm (ET), with the Cornell University Big Red playing the University of New Hampshire Wildcats. The University of Minnesota Golden Gophers, looking for a repeat of their 2002 NCAA Championship, will play the University of Michigan Wolverines at 6:00 pm. The winners of the semi-final games will meet in the championship game on Saturday, April 12 at 7:00 pm.

Three of the four teams have won an NCAA championship; New Hampshire will try to become a member of that club. And three of the four final teams were in this position last year; only Cornell is new to the 2003 field.

All games will be televised nationally on ESPN and ESPN2.
