Fiesta Bowl (National Championship Game) – Miami vs. Ohio State
We've got a shot at a the national championship ourselves this year on the coattails of the Miami Hurricanes. The school's men's and women's basketball programs will move into an arena designed by Ellerbe Becket in early 2003.
Rose Bowl – Washington State vs. Oklahoma
Ellerbe Becket can't lose at the Rose Bowl because we can count both programs as our clients. Early this year, the University of Oklahoma moved its basketball programs into a practice and training expansion of the Lloyd Noble Center arena. Later this year, we kicked-off a master plan for Washington State University to expand its football stadium.
Gator Bowl – Notre Dame vs. North Carolina State
Notre Dame's return to a winning tradition happened every Saturday afternoon this season in the Ellerbe Becket-designed expansion to Notre Dame Stadium.
Peach Bowl – Maryland vs. Tennessee
The Terrapins, the 2002 men's national basketball champions, moved into America's newest collegiate basketball arena at Comcast Center this year. Moving with them was the rest of athletic department – 23 sports and all administrative functions – making the Ellerbe Becket-designed facility the newest Division I athletics headquarters in the country as well.
Seattle Bowl – Oregon vs. Wake Forest
This is another bowl game Ellerbe Becket can't lose. The Oregon Ducks played this season in an expanded Autzen Stadium, and both Wake Forest basketball programs compete in Lawrence Joel Arena. Both facilities were designed by Ellerbe Becket.
Continental Tire Bowl – Virginia vs. West Virginia
While the Virginia Cavaliers were winning on the football field in 2002, Ellerbe Becket was putting a winning set of plans together for a new basketball arena. The building, designed to honor Thomas Jefferson's planning and design tenets for the Charlottesville campus, will open in 2005.
Tangerine Bowl – Texas Tech vs. Clemson
Texas Tech constructed a winning season this year playing through an Ellerbe Becket construction zone. Ellerbe Becket designed a major expansion to Jones SBC Stadium in Lubbock that is currently under construction and scheduled to open in 2003.
