The hospital’s vision was to relocate the entrance to the Emergency department to the front of the hospital campus by building an addition to the existing department and relocating many program elements for better work flow and wayfinding. Wood, stone and patterned terrazzo were used to give the space a hospitality feeling, but are sustainable, durable and easily maintained. Expansive windows and a high coffered ceiling create a light airy openness and a connection to the outside.

Rapid growth forced this regional brokerage firm to move after they outgrew their old building. The relocation required a new headquarters building custom designed to accommodate their trading functions in three levels with large column free areas. Ergonomics, safety and workplace comfort were important goals of the project for employee retention in a highly competitive industry.

The challenge from the Executive Partners of a newly established venture capital firm was to create a flagship office that would set the tone for the new company’s image. Because this is the first of several offices to be set up across the country, the client wanted a design aesthetic that would translate easily to other locations in various regions. The chosen contemporary aesthetic was softened by including a mixture of texture and materials, including glass, stone, multiple fabrics, and exotic woods.
