A Web site has recognized the public restrooms in the Main Building at the University of Notre Dame as the best in the United States. Notre Dame won the distinction after nearly a year of online voting at www.thebestofusa.com. Voters were enthralled by the restrooms' Victorian charm, including tile floors imported from England, faucets with chrome and brass accents, and solid oak doors on the stalls.
Editor's Note: Ellerbe Becket completed renovation of the famous Notre Dame Golden Dome (otherwise known as the Main Administration Building) in 1999.
