In 1950, Fr. John J. Cavanaugh asked Ellerbe Becket to design O'Shaughnessy Hall as a result of high praise from philanthropist I.A. O'Shaughnessy. The firm’s work for the university to-date includes renovation of two of its most well-known buildings: the stadium and administration building.
