Hays Medical Center, The Center for Health Improvement

Ellerbe Becket worked in conjunction with Hays Medical Center, one of the leading hospitals in Northwest Kansas, to design a new wellness center to serve Hays and the surrounding communities. The Center for Health Improvement serves those in need of medical care, health improvement and disease prevention, while providing a new vision in preventive healthcare.

The region’s architectural character inspired the design of this wellness center. Physicians with specialties in chronic pain, complementary medicine and sleep disorders have offices on the second floor. On the ground floor the fitness center has programs in aerobics, strength training, basketball and aquatics. Related medical practices in orthopedics, cardiology and physical and occupational therapy are here as well. Center visitors and students may take advantage of child care services.
