East Texas Medical Center, Regional Healthcare System–Tyler

For the West Campus expansion, Ellerbe Becket built what it designed: a nine-story medical office building, 48-bed rehabilitation hospital, parking ramp and an arched skyway that bridges the east and west campuses. The skyway has become an iconic image synonymous with the medical center.

Unique to the rehab hospital are activity areas that include an indoor Olympic-size pool, gym, rooftop gardens and patios. Each area was planned to be comfortable and supportive of the healing process, using water and other natural elements extensively.
