Empower’s cooling plant serving Dubai Healthcare City (DHCC) is designed for a total of 56,000 tons of cooling and will serve between 9,300,000 and 10,760,000 square feet of office, medical, hospital, hotel and supporting structures. The 56,000 tons is produced in one plant and distributed directly by buried piping throughout the campus. The floor plate of the plant itself is 50,800 square feet; the plant’s height is 50 foot to the roofline and 90 feet to the top of the cooling tower’s fan cylinder.
When completed, the three plants designed by Ellerbe Becket for Empower will be among the largest in the world.
