Yale University, Payne Whitney Gymnasium Renovation

Athletes train in the historic 1932 building for varsity crew, gymnastics, swimming, fencing, volleyball and wrestling. Trophies, memorabilia and a sports store celebrate Yale’s athletic history.

Phase I of four renovated 77,000 sq.ft./7,154 m² – for basketball, volleyball, badminton, and international-regulation squash courts. Athletes work on strength and conditioning in the new fitness center. Yet to come: a 50-meter pool with spring board and diving tower, expanded gymnastics and fencing facilities, additional locker room improvements and interior upgrades.
