St. Olaf College, Tostrud Athletic Center

While the original athletic complex served the campus well for over 30 years, the new Tostrud Athletic Center was designed to support recreation, wellness, and physical education for all students and the St. Olaf community. The 95,000 sf addition holds a fieldhouse with competition track, a fitness area and a rock-climbing atrium.

All components of the new recreational facility are visible upon entering the building. Rock climbing instruction becomes an “event” through its central placement, and students can watch a track or tennis practice, or directly access the elevated jogging track.
