Oppenheimer & Co. Inc. is a national investment boutique that provides financial services and advice to high net worth investors, individuals, businesses and institutions. Their Minneapolis branch was operating out of space that previously had been occupied by a real estate developer—and it clearly did not reflect Oppenheimer’s corporate image or support their business model.
Ellerbe Becket provided programming and design services for the relocation of the 12,000-square-foot office, planning the space to meet the regulatory separation requirement between Retail and Banking groups without unnecessarily duplicating support functions. Designers worked with Oppenheimer to understand their branding objectives and developed a design concept that supported their desired identity. Oppenheimer’s foremost desire was to inject a youthful energy into their surroundings, which was accomplished through the use of clean architectural lines, high-contrasting materials, and bright colors.
