This 600,000-square-foot courthouse, designed by Ellerbe Becket in association with Abend Singleton Associates, houses 16 courtrooms including a Circuit Court of Appeals, 17 judges' chambers, court-related agencies, extensive multimedia conference facilities, fitness center, concession areas, and enclosed parking for 100 vehicles. The 2-block site also includes a grand landscaped plaza.
Positioned at the head of a Civic Mall and located opposite the historically significant City Hall, the courthouse has a highly visible place of honor within the Central Business District of Kansas City.
