City of San Antonio, Emergency Operations Center

San Antonio, Texas USA

The City of San Antonio and Bexar County jointly occupy this new Emergency Operations Center in Southeastern San Antonio. The building permanently house the offices of San Antonio’s Fire Chief and his administrative staff, as well as the 311 function.

An Operations Room is outfitted to accommodate all constituencies necessary to handle public emergencies, including weather peril and human inflicted disasters, with redundant mechanical and electrical systems for emergency power, heating and cooling for 24/7 operation. The adjoining Policy Room with a moveable glass wall divider will house high-level decision makers, allowing auditory privacy while providing full view into the Operations Room.

The Media room is designed for public officials to deliver statements to the press. All three rooms are flexibly designed for training and meetings when not required for emergency operations. A large breakroom and exterior patio provide opportunties for stress reduction for the emergency staff. A 24/7 Data Center is also included in the project program.
