The initial 250-bed phase of the Park University Student Village is composed of a combination of two-bedroom and four-bedroom suites. Designed to be competitive with modern student housing developments in the region, the project responds to the contextual precedent set by historic Copley Hall, a true Arts and Crafts style icon on the campus. When the second 250-bed phase is completed, a true residential quad will exist, inspired by Copley Hall and perfectly located between the campus core and historic downtown Parkville. The project is designed to LEED Silver standards to meet the university's sustainability commitment.
A unique aspect of the project is that Ellerbe Becket provided construction management services to deliver the project in a completely integrated design-led design-build process. In this completely open-book delivery approach, the design team is a true party to the construction process so the integrity of the design is fully represented through occupancy.
