Ellerbe Becket, in association with Northwest Architectural Company, provided planning, architecture and interior design services for Group Health Cooperative’s ambulatory surgery center and medical office building. The multi-specialty medical center, located next to the I-405 freeway and connected to the neighboring Overlake Hospital, serves as Group Health’s primary facility on Seattle’s east side. It will provide space for the outpatient practice of Group Health physicians in more than 20 specialty areas.
The center houses outpatient surgery, diagnostic imaging, pharmacy, a women’s health care center, cancer treatment center and an outpatient acute and urgent care center. One unique feature is the use of a flexible, multi-assignable exam module on each of the clinical floors. This standardization allows any physician to comfortably use any room and allows for future flexibility as Group Health’s practice evolves.
Our medical center is not only a landmark and symbol of Group Health on the Eastside, but a benchmark for great healthcare and service.
