Target Corporation Headquarters

Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA

Corporations change. What’s new? When Target executives made the decision to consolidate into one headquarters, they asked designers to use change as their guiding principle. A large floor plate means workstation layout can be altered easily. Associated costs and the work required to move furniture and teams around are lessened because the furniture itself is wired, including occupancy sensors that control lighting. Cubicle walls create visual diversity by varying in height, texture and color—a “landscape” rather than a typical open office—with plenty of places to meet and share ideas.
