Northwestern Memorial Hospital Redevelopment

Chicago, Illinois, USA

Extensive studies conducted by the hospital showed that insufficient space and outdated facilities were the greatest obstacles to achieving its strategic goals. The three design firms of Ellerbe Becket, HOK and VOA teamed up to create a new facility.

The 500-bed academic medical center located in downtown Chicago integrates inpatient and outpatient services into a single building concept. The double tower’s base houses diagnostic and therapeutic services. One tower contains inpatient beds while the faculty foundation and physician offices are in the other.

The trust and honesty of this team goes beyond our firms. … Everyone worked toward common goals. We had an extraordinary experience … an ideal way to produce an exceptional project.
