When Franklin Ellerbe opened his business in borrowed drafting space a century ago, he had no way of knowing that his fledgling design shop would someday grow to become one of the country’s largest full-service firms. Ellerbe Becket has maintained a presence in the Twin Cities since 1909 and its current location in downtown Minneapolis’ LaSalle Plaza Building (designed by Ellerbe Becket) is the firm’s largest office.
