In-depth understanding of plumbing engineering design (including Medical Gases design) and documentation tasks associated with standard engineering practice; ability to take responsibility for planning, direction of staff and production for drafting of assigned projects; extensive knowledge and practice skills of production systems including AutoCAD; understanding of various building codes; ability to develop project drafting budgets; general knowledge of current construction materials and methods used; effective written and verbal communication skills. Revit experience desirable and at least 6 years experience with AutoCAD or equivalent computer assisted drafting system.

Directs the total engineering discipline design including: design management, analysis and documentation of assigned projects, direct production teams, and develop and execute discipline work plans under the supervision of the engineering director, project engineer and project leader. Interact and communicate effectively and professionally with other team members, the client and external agencies as directed. Perform all project drafting with highest efficiency within AutoCAD in accordance with the document guidelines. Obtain understanding of overall project goals and constraints including client values and objectives, construction and design budget limitations and schedule requirements. Assist with all drafting quality control activities for all elements on a project. Plan work effort within the design team and coordinate details with other disciplines. Maintain, organize and archive project related documents. Assist in the training and development of department drafting staff as requested. Perform construction administration tasks, including shop drawing review, change order preparation and field problem resolution.
